Call it fate, call it chance, whatever it is, it’s our life.
Luis was born at the end of the 70s, in Caracas, and raised in a family that has nothing to envy to any of the stories of Garcia-Marquez.
A few years later, I was brought to life in a small maternity lost in the east of France, in a place of fine wines and renowned gastronomy.
Our cultures, traditions, educations, everything separated us. Not to mention thousands of miles of blue ocean, cold as ice.
And yet, we met. More than 10 years ago, we had the pleasure to work together in the same company in Switzerland. One thing leading to another, we became friends, and soon were led to understand that the bound between us was stronger than a single friendship.
And here we are now. 10 years of pure happiness, spent with the most amazing person I have ever met. I admire his values, his compassion and his strong sense of what is right and wrong. He’s the pilar on which I rely every time I fall and the sun that brightens any of my happy days. Thanks to him, I’ve travelled much farther in life that I had ever dreamed of and every time I see him smiling, I feel blessed having him around.
It’s only fair then to have this blog dedicated to him. Without Luis in my life, it is very unlikely that I would have discovered one day the wonders of Johannesburg.
Luis, this one goes out to you. I hope you’ll enjoy it.

Came across your blog through Heather’s FB post. It’s always nice to read what fellow Jozi bloggers are saying and doing! Your reasons for blogging are same as mine – to share our experiences of this beautiful city, which is quite misconstrued. Look forward to reading more.

Hey, nice to meet you!! I can see indeed that we share the same reasons behind putting a blog together. And I believe our experience in Joburg is not that different than yours: apart from exploring the city, we just added a new member to our family, a little French bulldog that is now the centre of our preoccupations!! Looking forward to reading some of your articles! Take care! V.

We should organize something then. I’ll be away from Jozi for a few weeks, I’ll contact you as soon as things start to settle down…
